  • 3 tbps unsalted butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion chopped
  • 2 pcs garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger minced
  • 1 1/2 pounds chicken breasts cut into ¾-inch chunks
  • 2 pcs tomatoes chopped finely
  • 1 tbsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp teaspoon ground turmeric
  • Salt and ground black pepper as required
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt whipped
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro chopped


  • Melt the butter in a large wok over medium-high heat and sauté the onions for about 6-8 minutes.
  • Add the garlic, and ginger and sauté for about 1 minute.
  • Add the tomatoes and cook for about 2-3 minutes, crushing with the back of spoon.
  • Stir in the chicken, spices, salt, and black pepper and cook for about 6-8 minutes or until desired doneness of the chicken.
  • Stir in the yogurt and heavy cream and cook for about 8-10 more minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
